Introducing you to our Co-headteacher Tilly Browne. Tilly leads our primary age group and excellent team of teachers for our younger year groups.
We thought it good for prospective students, families, and team members to get to know Tilly. What better way than a quick-fire question and answer? Let’s see what she had to say…
Q. Hello Tilly! How do you feel about the Reach Hanworth Park adventure?
A. The chance to start a new school is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I am excited to be sharing the lessons I have learned from being co-headteacher at Reach Academy Feltham, but also to learn many new things from new staff and the new school community.
Q. Which part of your role do you enjoy the most?
A. I always look forward to meeting our new cohort of children, getting to know their families and delivering an incredible Reach education to even more children.
Q. Which of the REACH values (reflect, endeavour, aspire, show courage, have fun) do you most connect with and why?
A. I love the value of ‘show courage’. Excelling in school and in life takes courage. Courage to think for yourself, courage to work hard, courage to bounce back, courage to chase what you want in the future and to take hold of opportunities with both hands.
Q. What was your favourite school subject and why?
A. I loved Religious Studies at school, partly due to my teacher Mr Martin. He always explained difficult theological and philosophical concepts with such clarity but also left us with lots of room to debate.
Q. What is one thing that makes a great school?
A. Knowing that you always have someone to talk to and who will listen, is as important for the headteacher as it is for the four-year-old, who starts in Reception.
Q. What is your favourite thing to do outside of work?
A. I love to eat food! I used to say cooking, but actually, it is more the eating. I also love to visit new places in the school holidays.
