Frequently asked questions
We gathered the answers to some popular questions below.
If you can’t find your question below feel free to contact us, and we’ll be happy to help.
What is the difference between Reach Academy Feltham and Reach Academy Hanworth Park?
The main difference is that they are on separate sites. That is really where the differences end. All of the great work happening in both schools will be shared across Reach Schools and combined with all of the very best ideas from around the world.
Can I move between the two schools?
That is discouraged as it does not support our ability to build strong, lasting and impactful relationships with children and families.
How does the sibling preference for admissions work?
Each school has their own Admissions Policy and the sibling preference works within individual schools only (not across Reach Schools).
Does that mean I could end up with children at both of the schools?
Yes. If you had, for example, a child in Year 10 at Reach Academy Feltham and another child who was in a different primary school then you could apply for the second child to join both of the schools. The likelihood of them getting into Reach Academy Hanworth Park is higher because there is no entry point for Reach Academy Feltham at Year 7 (because pupils from Year 6 transition ‘all-through’). The schools are geographically so close together that we don’t anticipate that being a problem for drop-offs and pick-ups for example.
Won’t Reach Academy Hanworth Park have better facilities?
Reach Academy Hanworth Park is newer, yes, but the facilities will be broadly the same. The building is being designed in a similar fashion to Reach Academy Feltham’s. The main difference is that Reach Academy Hanworth Park has more outside space, but there will be a connecting gate and both schools will be able to benefit.
When will the nursery open?
The nursery will open once the building is fully completed.
When will the building be finished?
We will keep our families updated on progress with building work. If you would like more information on the new school building work, get in touch.
So where are the pupils located in the meantime?
Pupils learn in a temporary building adjacent to Reach Academy Feltham. It has a library, art and science rooms and plenty of classrooms and outdoor space for pupils to have everything they need. They also use some of the facilities at Reach Academy Feltham to ensure the full curriculum is covered. Similarly, some of the staff at Reach Academy Feltham oversee aspects of the new site (e.g. the premises team and the catering team).
