We are delighted to announce that Hounslow Council have formally granted planning permission for our new school building!

Councillors unanimously voted on Thursday 3rd October to approve the application, following a lengthy consultation process.

“We are delighted that things can now move forward at pace with the new building construction. This approval gives our families, present and future, the assurance that another excellent Reach school exists to provide even more local children with the life of choice and opportunity which all children deserve.”

The new site consists of three buildings: a new five story teaching block, with lift access, a nursery block and a state of the art sports hall, with adjacent sports pitches and hard courts. The school buildings have been designed to be Net Zero Carbon.

The main secondary and primary playground spaces have large semi-enclosed courtyards and lots of open space. The nursery has its own dedicated play space and access to a school ‘farm’ to the north, as well as the ability to open up and share spaces with the existing Reach Academy Feltham Nursery. The playing fields and hard courts can be easily reached from the internal sports facilities and from both the existing Reach Academy Feltham and the new Reach Academy Hanworth Park which has huge benefits for pupils at both schools.

The building is L-shaped and has been organised, like Reach Academy Feltham, with the lower year groups at ground level, rising progressively to the sixth form on the top floor.

The school has a large assembly hall and drama studio located in the main body of the school where it provides a key gathering space that can be easily accessed by all. The double height hall includes bleacher seating, allowing the room to be simply transformed from a performance space to a flat-floored multipurpose space. The drama space sits adjacent to the hall, separated by a folding partition wall, so that it can function as a stage.
The opposite side of the building houses the school’s kitchen and food technology space. The building is also equipped with a suite of community meeting rooms, specialist subject spaces, a conference room management suite and a SEND base.
