Our ‘Reach’ values
Explore the significance of each of the ‘Reach’ letters
At Reach Academy Hanworth Park, we confidently demonstrate our Reach values – a central theme across all Reach Schools. We explore these five pillars, making sure each value gets its own spotlight at least every half term. We don’t just teach these values, we cheer them on with vibrant messaging and displays, meaningful teaching moments, assemblies, and celebrations for those who exercise them.
We won’t just keep these successes to ourselves, we will announce them to our student’s families, and make sure our community is also celebrating these all-important traits. Each one is thoughtfully crafted to arm our students with everything they need to lead lives full of choice and opportunity.

Our core values

Reflect
‘Reflect’ embodies a core value at Reach Academy Hanworth Park because we believe in the power of constant learning from ourselves and others. It’s about taking a moment to think before we act, learning from our mistakes, and understanding ourselves at a deeper level. This reflective practice cultivates self-awareness and fosters personal growth.
Endeavour
Endeavouring or working hard is another value we uphold. At Reach Schools, we subscribe to the idea that success is the product of hard work, not luck. We pour 100% of our effort into everything we do, whether it’s tackling academic challenges or finding solutions to problems. We embrace the ethos that our dedication and industriousness are the keys to achievement.
Aspire
Aspiration is a driving force at Reach Schools. We dare to dream, and we instill the bravery in our students to make those dreams a reality. This involves cultivating self-belief and, at times, leading others towards a shared vision. When we aspire, we encourage ourselves to plan for greatness, believe in our abilities, and guide others on the journey.
Show Courage
Showing courage, perhaps one of the most challenging values to live by, is integral to our school’s ethos. Whether it’s revealing our weaknesses or strengths, we encourage our students to embrace vulnerability and risk. We teach them to not fear making mistakes, to persist in the face of adversity, and to think creatively. This courage forms the bedrock of resilience and innovation.
Have fun
Finally, ‘Have Fun‘ is a value that encapsulates our belief in the joy of learning. When exploring the other values, having fun comes naturally. But sometimes, we also need to relax and have fun to get the most out of the other values. We foster an environment where students are passionate about what they do, show kindness to themselves and others, and work well in teams. This value reminds us that whilst education is about academic success, it’s also about enjoying the journey and supporting each other along the way.
