We are thrilled to provide an exciting update on our new school building plans in West London. Our aim is to create a space that not only facilitates learning but also mirrors the vibrant energy of our students.
Exterior design that reflects our identity
The exterior design of the main teaching block featuring a palette of terracotta red and soft yellow, is a nod to the Reach Academy Hanworth Park brand colours, making a distinct statement about the school’s identity within the community. The palette was selected to provide visual interest, depth and texture and to complement surrounding buildings, including Reach Academy Feltham and the listed Feltham House.
Architecture mirroring our phase model
Our effective all-through model, welcoming children from ages four to sixteen, is reflected in the building’s architecture. Proven successful at our first Reach School, Reach Academy Feltham, our innovative ‘phase’ structure will be replicated in the new school, with each floor hosting each phase (three concurrent year groups). This organisational model breaks down the school into five phases, softening the split between Primary and Secondary. As students progress through their school journey and move up into higher year groups, they will also literally move higher up, in our exciting new building.
Spaces for shared experiences
At Reach Schools, we believe that education doesn’t just happen in the classroom. This is why our design incorporates shared open spaces beyond the classrooms. These spaces, envisioned for dining, revision, and relaxation, are where our students will develop skills that are crucial for their education and life. With open space and plenty of light, these areas are perfect for finding time to seek support from teachers or share ideas for creative projects. These areas will also promote strong relationships as students revise together, build relationships, and experience ‘family dining’, an impactful lunchtime concept, where children serve nutritious and delicious dinners to their table and enjoy time eating together.
